Georgian Style Town House

Mad physicist does it again, and this time it isn't a vehicle, nor a boat, and not even a jet aircraft. He's going back to his British ''High Street''—a project he's been working on for the past couple of years.

This build is excellent on so many levels. Let's start with the exterior. Rather than going with the modular size of 16x32 or 32x32, Ralph made two buildings each with a size of 24x32. As with most London Town houses, Ralph adds in his description, some buildings are ''more or less'' exactly identical, so instead of making two of the same thing, he decided to have one renovated—complete with scaffolding, a dumpster, and a portaloo!" It is something new that brings about a whole new inspiration to build in the CC standard.

The interior is nothing below average either. As with all of his CC style buildings, Ralph manages to squeeze in realistic features such as a stairs, tiled floors, couches, sinks, tables, and the like. It really makes the model come together, rather than an empty shell or hastily done interior that viewers see all too often. I'm guilty of it, and this compels me to take my time, and go about building in a steady manner.

So thanks, Ralph! There is no doubt in my mind we are all looking forward to your next building. Keep up the great work!

Cafe Corner Block

Constructed by Brickshelf member, safiati, this well built city block incorporates many nice colors not usually associated with this style of building. The details thrown into this build are really nice and makes this quite an inspiration, especially for someone like me who is hesitant in using the brighter spectrum of colors for CC buildings. My only suggestion would be to make the roof entirely black, but that easily could have been a part shortage, so it's no big deal. Well done and keep it up!

Welcome to the Market!

This crisp looking creation was created by ToT-LUG, over at Flickr, and features quite the interior. With a meat counter, check-out lane, and clean floor space, this MOC is simple, yet not over cluttered. My only recommendation is to clean up the front awning, as it looks a bit jagged. Nevertheless, keep the CC buildings coming!

A quick picture of that interior:

Café Corner sold out on S@H Europe

Today is a dark day in the history of Brick Town Talk. Café Corner, the one and only, now comes up as Sold Out on Shop @ Home in Europe (I don't know about other parts of the world). Could this be the end of this marvelous set's successfull production life? The end of an era?

Details:

Here's another minifig-scale town masterpiece. It's suburban, but still in the Cafe Corner standard. The column capitals are spectacular, and the textures for the trim and roof look even better. Then there's the inside - the library is actually fully furnished with bookshelves!

Huge thank you to the guys of The Brickish Association who put together this years event. Neil and I had a great time. If you can make it the exhibition is on for another day. You can see, amongst other things, the new Imerial Flagship.

Justice Palace

Flickr user Tavernellos does it again, with this "Justice Palace" featuring expertly crafted architecture, from the entrance archway to the overhangs among the lower windows. From the park benches, to the flower beds, and even to the small grating along the roof, this MOC displays the proper time that went into it. Anybody who has seen his builds before will quickly want to see more. Keep it up!
